Cette fois, cette Shelby GT500 \u00ab\u00a0SS\u00a0\u00bb (Super Snake) a carr\u00e9ment franchi la barre des deux millions de dollars aux ench\u00e8res, pulv\u00e9risant l&rsquo;estimation initiale.<\/mark><\/h2><figure><\/figure><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p><mark>Tout \u00e9tait r\u00e9uni pour que cette\u00a0<\/mark><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caradisiac.com\/gamme--ford-mustang\/\"><mark>Mustang<\/mark><\/a><mark>\u00a0atteigne des sommets : une Shelby GT500 de la grande \u00e9poque, \u00ab\u00a0matching numbers\u00a0\u00bb (toute d&rsquo;origine), en tr\u00e8s bel \u00e9tat et dans une version unique Super Snake. Il est fr\u00e9quent de voir des\u00a0<\/mark><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caradisiac.com\/auto--shelby\/\"><mark>Shelby<\/mark><\/a><mark>\u00a0de cette \u00e9poque en version d&rsquo;origine atteindre des sommets, mais jamais \u00e0 un tel degr\u00e9.<\/mark><\/p><p><mark>Le \u00ab\u00a0Super Snake\u00a0\u00bb est un label qui a tr\u00e8s peu \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;histoire de Shelby. Le pr\u00e9parateur en proposait d&rsquo;ailleurs une tout r\u00e9cemment sur l&rsquo;ancienne version de Mustang avec 1000 ch sous le capot&#8230; Mais l\u00e0, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une version de 1967, cr\u00e9ation unique, et sur la base d&rsquo;une\u00a0<\/mark><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caradisiac.com\/modele--shelby-gt-500\/\"><mark>GT500<\/mark><\/a><mark>\u00a0de cette ann\u00e9e.<\/mark><\/p><p><mark>Ce prototype servit \u00e0 Shelby pour tester de nouveaux pneumatiques (ceux pr\u00e9sents sur l&rsquo;auto, justement) dans le cadre de l&rsquo;accord avec Goodyear dans les ann\u00e9es soixante. Le manufacturier avait alors besoin d&rsquo;un v\u00e9hicule tr\u00e8s puissant et capable de mettre \u00e0 mal des pneus sur des essais priv\u00e9s. Ainsi est n\u00e9e cette GT500 disposant d&rsquo;un 427&#8230; tir\u00e9 de la GT40 de course de l&rsquo;\u00e9poque.<\/mark><\/p><figure><\/figure><p><mark>Avec pr\u00e8s de 600 ch sous le capot, cette Mustang a subi de lourdes modifications, notamment au niveau des trains roulants. A cette \u00e9poque, le pilote essayeur parvient \u00e0 d\u00e9passer les 270\u00a0km\/h \u00e0 bord de la Mustang sur l&rsquo;ovale.<\/mark><\/p><p><mark>On comprend donc un peu mieux ce qui a pouss\u00e9 un acheteur \u00e0 d\u00e9bourser 2,2\u00a0millions de dollars pour acqu\u00e9rir la Mustang la plus puissante (en \u00e9tat d&rsquo;origine) des ann\u00e9es soixante.
