Se concentrant uniquement sur le\u00a0<em>tuning<\/em>, et accessible seulement aux gens travaillant dans l\u2019industrie, il est l\u2019endroit o\u00f9 l\u2019on retrouve les projets les plus fantastiques que l\u2019humanit\u00e9 soit en mesure de concocter avec l\u2019acier, le plastique et un peu de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>J\u2019y suis all\u00e9 cette ann\u00e9e, pour la premi\u00e8re fois de ma vie. Mon cerveau y a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en compote!<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00c0 l\u2019image de Vegas<\/h2><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Si Vegas est la capitale du vice et de l\u2019exc\u00e8s, le SEMA est son \u00e9quivalent dans l\u2019automobile. Plus de 6\u00a0000 kiosques se sp\u00e9cialisant en pi\u00e8ces et composantes \u00e0 haute performance y sont, sans oublier la tonne de bolides expos\u00e9s soit \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, soit \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur des trois immeubles formant le Las Vegas Convention Center.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Mais le SEMA n\u2019est pas qu\u2019un endroit o\u00f9 on peut se magasiner de nouvelles jantes pour notre Lamborghini Hurac\u00e1n. On y retrouve aussi plusieurs constructeurs qui pr\u00e9sentent leurs propres petites folies. Cette ann\u00e9e, on a eu droit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guideautoweb.com\/articles\/48284\/dodge-hellephant-1-000-chevaux-950-lb-pi\/\">au Hellephan<\/a>t, un monstre de 1\u00a0000 chevaux, produit par Mopar, que les accros aux chevaux-vapeur pourront installer dans une vieille Dodge de leur choix, pourvu que celle-ci f\u00fbt commercialis\u00e9e avant 1976. Chevrolet, de son bord, a discr\u00e8tement d\u00e9voil\u00e9\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guideautoweb.com\/articles\/48305\/chevrolet-presente-une-camaro-electrique-de-700-chevaux\/\">une Camaro enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectrique<\/a>. M\u00eame Honda s\u2019est amus\u00e9 avec un\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guideautoweb.com\/articles\/48289\/honda-devoile-le-rugged-open-air-vehicle-concept-a-sema\/\">Ridgeline converti en v\u00e9hicule hors route sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9<\/a>, si\u00e8ges de Civic Type R inclus!<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Une seule journ\u00e9e au SEMA, ce n\u2019est pas assez. On doit s\u2019y promener quelques jours pour bien absorber son immensit\u00e9 et ses subtilit\u00e9s. On passe devant une camionnette RAM \u2013 une parmi tant d\u2019autres \u2013 et on l\u2019ignore, car notre regard est imm\u00e9diatement attir\u00e9 vers un autre projet automobile plus fluorescent, ou plus \u00e9clair\u00e9, pour ensuite se rendre compte que le pick-up que l\u2019on a n\u00e9glig\u00e9 est en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 un poste de commande articul\u00e9 rempli d\u2019outils et de pi\u00e8ces pour mettre au point une voiture de course!<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Comme journaliste, c\u2019est intense, car il serait facile de se concentrer sur un seul bolide et de r\u00e9aliser un reportage entier sur ce dernier tellement les projets sont cingl\u00e9s. Une vielle Porsche 911 aliment\u00e9e par un moteur \u00e9lectrique Tesla? Pas de probl\u00e8me, on l\u2019a! Une BMW M3 propuls\u00e9e par un moteur V8 de Dodge Challenger Hellcat? Tout \u00e0 fait l\u00e9gitime. On est au SEMA, tout est permis!<\/p><h2>Toutefois, c\u2019est dehors que \u00e7a se passe<\/h2><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Certes, on peut rapidement se perdre parmi les kiosques vendant des pare-chocs, des phares, des cha\u00eenes audio ou des accessoires de camping, mais les v\u00e9ritables bijoux du SEMA sont \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>C\u2019est en me promenant sous un soleil torride que j\u2019ai fait ma surdose de passion. Mes oreilles saignaient en raison du vacarme qu\u2019\u00e9mettaient la Ford Mustang Roush de\u00a0<em>drift<\/em>\u00a0ET le Ford F-150 Raptor qui s\u2019exer\u00e7aient \u00e0 faire des acrobaties en tandem, sans arr\u00eat, en plein centre du stationnement \u2013 boucane dans les ailes et tout le tralala.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Des camionnettes sur\u00e9lev\u00e9es au point que je pouvais m\u2019asseoir en dessous! Des Jeep sortant tout droit de l\u2019enfer. Une Lamborghini, deux Lamborghini, une Porsche, une Ferrari \u2013 toutes modifi\u00e9es comme si elles s\u2019appr\u00eataient \u00e0 \u00eatre les vedettes de\u00a0<em>Rapides et dangereux 15<\/em>.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Ensuite, il y a avait les\u00a0<em>hot rods<\/em>. Des machines con\u00e7ues dans des granges par des passionn\u00e9s barbus et tatou\u00e9s, encore plus drogu\u00e9s que moi. Des bolides rouill\u00e9s de type\u00a0<em>rat rod<\/em>, aplatis, \u00e9largis, allong\u00e9s, coll\u00e9s au sol comme des limaces, il y en a plein.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Et que dire des incontournables classiques : les Ford Mustang Shelby, Cobra, GT40, Mercedes-Benz 300SL, Lamborghini Miura, Ford RS200, Jaguar E-Type, et m\u00eame quelques camionnettes antiques Dodge Power Wagon poss\u00e9d\u00e9es par Lucifer en personne!<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Mes yeux chauffaient. Mon appareil photo n\u2019en pouvait plus de capter tout ce qu\u2019il voyait. Mes pieds \u00e9taient meurtris. J\u2019avais mal. J\u2019avais soif. Mais je m\u2019en foutais. J\u2019\u00e9tais au paradais, compl\u00e8tement \u00ab buzz\u00e9 \u00bb et domin\u00e9 par ma drogue.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Aujourd\u2019hui, une semaine plus tard, j\u2019\u00e9cris ce texte comme un toxicomane qui tente de reprendre un rythme de vie normal. Assis au bureau, un peu d\u00e9prim\u00e9, observant la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 froide et pluvieuse par la fen\u00eatre, j\u2019ai une insupportable soif de revivre la mont\u00e9e d\u2019endorphine que j\u2019ai ressentie au SEMA.
