Et quiconque ayant d\u00e9j\u00e0 mis son s\u00e9ant derri\u00e8re le sublime volant en bois \u00e0 trois branches d&rsquo;une Ford Mustang de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9poque (1964-1966), qui plus est pr\u00e9par\u00e9e par le grand gourou Carroll Shelby, sait \u00e0 quel point ce genre d&rsquo;engin est sp\u00e9cial.\u00a0 Aujourd&rsquo;hui, les exemplaires originaux de GT350 de la premi\u00e8re heure circulant encore et en bon \u00e9tat sont rares, tr\u00e8s rares. En France, ils doivent se compter sur les doigts de la main, et aux Etats-Unis, un beau mod\u00e8le d\u00e9passe tr\u00e8s facilement les 100\u00a0000\u00a0dollars. Mais celui-ci est tr\u00e8s particulier : il a appartenu \u00e0 Carroll Shelby, en personne. Contrairement \u00e0 ce qui est \u00e9crit sur les flancs, il s&rsquo;agit bien d&rsquo;une GT350 \u00ab\u00a0H\u00a0\u00bb, pour Hertz. Le loueur proposait en effet en 1966\u00a0un programme de location de voitures tr\u00e8s performantes, en collaboration avec la FoMoCo (Ford Motor Company). La GT350H \u00e9tait ainsi n\u00e9e.\u00a0 Concr\u00e8tement, la GT350h ne diff\u00e8re que tr\u00e8s peu du mod\u00e8le de base. On retrouve le fameux V8 289 code \u00ab\u00a0K\u00a0\u00bb surmont\u00e9 d&rsquo;un carburateur quadruple corps associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une bo\u00eete automatique \u00e0 quatre rapports, le tout d\u00e9livrant 310 ch (chiffres officiels communiqu\u00e9s). Freins \u00e0 disque \u00e0 l&rsquo;avant, suspensions ind\u00e9pendantes (uniquement \u00e0 l&rsquo;avant, l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re \u00e9tant encore l&rsquo;essieu rigide \u00e0 lames), assistance de freinage (en option), autoradio, et jantes faisaient partie de la liste des \u00e9quipements de ce mod\u00e8le en particulier, qui fut achet\u00e9 personnellement par Carroll Shelby. La maison Bonhams proposera bient\u00f4t cette Shelby qui n&rsquo;a toujours pas pris une ride aux ench\u00e8res, avec une estimation situ\u00e9e entre 150\u00a0000\u00a0et 200\u00a0000 dollars. Ce n&rsquo;est finalement pas tant que cela compte tenu du pedigree. Sachez d&rsquo;ailleurs qu&rsquo;en 1966, pour acqu\u00e9rir ce mod\u00e8le, il fallait d\u00e9bourser 3865 dollars, soit 1100 dollars de plus que pour un fastback classique la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e.
