grondements de V8 et d\u2019odeur de gomme br\u00fbl\u00e9e fascinent. Une coll\u00e8gue m\u2019expliquait qu\u2019un ami qui a immigr\u00e9 ici a eu pour premier objectif, une fois en Am\u00e9rique, de se procurer un Dodge Challenger. Le r\u00eave am\u00e9ricain qui n\u2019\u00e9tait pas r\u00e9aliste chez nos cousins fran\u00e7ais.<br \/>\n<strong>1347 chevaux au rendez-vous<\/strong><br \/>\nNous avons mis \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve la Dodge Challenger R\/T Scat Pack, la Chevrolet Camaro SS et la Ford Mustang GT. Puis-je vous dire ce qui a fait notre plus grand bonheur devant ces b\u00eates muscl\u00e9es? Elles repr\u00e9sentent une version haut de gamme, mais accessible, de ces trois mod\u00e8les. Nous avons le rugissement du V8 et le plaisir de la boite manuelle \u00e0 six rapports.<br \/>\nTrois personnalit\u00e9s muscl\u00e9es! Sollicitant les amateurs d\u2019artilleries lourdes et entrant sans aucun doute en comp\u00e9tition l\u2019une contre l\u2019autre, ces voitures s\u2019adressent pourtant \u00e0 trois types tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rents d\u2019acheteurs.<br \/>\n<strong>Chevrolet Camaro : Pour le pilote<\/strong><br \/>\nD\u00e9nud\u00e9e et m\u00e9canique, la Chevrolet Camaro SS (426 ch) s\u2019adresse \u00e0 l\u2019amateur de piste de course. Elle ne poss\u00e8de que tr\u00e8s peu de syst\u00e8mes qui puissent rendre la conduite de tous les jours agr\u00e9able. Pas de cam\u00e9ra de recul, pas de syst\u00e8me de navigation, un r\u00e9duit d\u2019option et de syst\u00e8mes de contr\u00f4le de stabilit\u00e9. On se sustente des bruits de la transmission, celui du moteur et de tout le reste. On oublie l\u2019isolation, la voiture est r\u00e9duite \u00e0 un minimum de confort alors que tout est ax\u00e9 sur le potentiel de la voiture en piste.<br \/>\nLa Camaro est tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able \u00e0 manipuler. Malgr\u00e9 le fort poids \u00e0 l\u2019avant du v\u00e9hicule et toute la puissance transmise aux roues arri\u00e8re, le contr\u00f4le en virage est excellent. On ressent la voiture bien assise dans les courbes et cela conf\u00e8re beaucoup de confiance au volant de ce monstre m\u00e9canique. C\u2019est une sensation surprenante pour ce type de v\u00e9hicule. Agr\u00e9ablement surprenante.<br \/>\n<strong>Ford Mustang : La nostalgique<\/strong><br \/>\nLa Ford Mustang GT (435 ch) a bien \u00e9volu\u00e9 depuis son introduction en allure n\u00e9o-classique en 2005. L\u2019int\u00e9rieur \u00e9tait alors d\u00e9nud\u00e9 et bien triste. Il est maintenant tr\u00e8s cossu et magnifiquement \u00e9quip\u00e9e. On a m\u00eame os\u00e9 y ajouter quelques fioritures, juste pour le plaisir, comme la forme du Mustang en lumi\u00e8re projet\u00e9e sur le sol \u00e0 l\u2019ouverture des portes.<br \/>\nLa nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration introduite a un aspect beaucoup plus agressif et se dissocie davantage de la forme classique. On cr\u00e9e ici une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration du Pony, une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration qui se d\u00e9ploie en trois motorisations dont la fameuse nouvelle version \u00e0 quatre cylindres.\u00a0 Il y en a pour tous les go\u00fbts et tous les budgets. Elle est \u00e9galement la plus abordable des trois.<br \/>\nJe n\u2019oserais pas dire que la voiture soit d\u2019une grande facilit\u00e9 \u00e0 manipuler lorsqu\u2019on la pousse un peu plus fort que d\u2019ordinaire. Elle a certes beaucoup de ventre et une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration marqu\u00e9e, mais la balance du poids n\u2019est pas tout \u00e0 fait au point. On sent la voiture l\u00e9g\u00e8rement sous-virer en courbes.<br \/>\nUne acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration brutale transf\u00e8re beaucoup de poids \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re et fait osciller l\u2019avant. Une r\u00e9action diam\u00e9tralement oppos\u00e9e \u00e0 celle de la Chevrolet Camaro. Mais pour donner quelques frissons au nostalgique qui souhaite revivre la populaire voiture, il y a de quoi satisfaire. Les mots d\u2019ordre sont confort, cossu et cabr\u00e9&#8230; comme un Mustang!<br \/>\n<strong>Dodge Challenger : l\u2019amateur r\u00e9tro<\/strong><br \/>\nJe vais devoir me confesser ici. Bien que chacune des voitures pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es m\u2019aient mis le sourire aux l\u00e8vres et emball\u00e9 mon c\u0153ur, j\u2019ai eu un faible pour le Dodge Challenger Scat Pack (485 ch). J\u2019ai ador\u00e9 son \u00abShaker hood\u00bb, son style, son confort, et sa suspension plus souple.<br \/>\nIl est vrai qu\u2019on a peu de visibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 bord de ce v\u00e9hicule, qu\u2019il est tr\u00e8s gros en comparaison avec la Ford Mustang et encore plus compar\u00e9 \u00e0 la Chevrolet Camaro.\u00a0 Il y a peu d\u2019espace\u00a0 pour les passagers arri\u00e8re et le coffre, bien que tr\u00e8s grand, voit le design de la carrosserie couper en partie son accessibilit\u00e9. Des attributs tr\u00e8s r\u00e9tro.<br \/>\nMais cette version de la Dodge Challenger, la Scat Pack, est d\u2019une m\u00e9chancet\u00e9 contr\u00f4l\u00e9e. On retrouve une version d\u00e9mesur\u00e9e de la voiture avec la Dodge Challenger Hellcat qui poss\u00e8de 707 chevaux exultant du V8 suraliment\u00e9. La Scat Pack est \u00e9quip\u00e9e du m\u00eame V8 SRT HEMI. Sans \u00eatre suraliment\u00e9, il d\u00e9gage 485 chevaux et 475 lb-pi de couple.<br \/>\nLa voiture est civilis\u00e9e : l\u2019habitacle est silencieux, il offre les m\u00eames \u00e9l\u00e9ments de confort que l\u2019on retrouve dans un mod\u00e8le de tous les jours. Le tout avec un ronronnement agr\u00e9able et une puissance incroyable. L\u2019int\u00e9rieur est bien travaill\u00e9. Il est un milieu entre la frugalit\u00e9 de la Camaro et la sur-finition de la Mustang. C\u2019est une voiture qui pourrait faire le bonheur de son propri\u00e9taire tous les jours de l\u2019ann\u00e9e. Si ce n\u2019\u00e9tait, bien s\u00fbr, de sa consommation de 17L\/100km!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Puisqu\u2019il\u00a0 faut d\u00e9finir un gagnant<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Par Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Mercier<\/em><br \/>\nDifficile de croire que trois voitures s\u2019adressant \u00e0 la m\u00eame client\u00e8le peuvent \u00eatre aussi diff\u00e9rentes. Et pourtant!<br \/>\nEt on parle tout de m\u00eame d\u2019une guerre qui dure depuis pr\u00e8s de 50 ans! Ford a parti le bal avec le lancement de la Mustang, en 1964.<br \/>\nDeux ans plus tard, Chevrolet r\u00e9pliquait avec la Camaro, puis Dodge allait suivre la parade et pr\u00e9senter la Challenger, un v\u00e9hicule qui d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque pr\u00e9sentait des dimensions plus imposantes que ses deux rivales.<br \/>\nEncore aujourd\u2019hui, la Challenger fait classe \u00e0 part dans ce trio de r\u00eave. Elle est plus grosse, plus lourde, et plus bruyante que la Camaro et la Mustang. Faut dire que la version Scat Pack mise \u00e0 l\u2019essai pour ce match comparatif n\u2019avait rien, mais alors rien de silencieux.<br \/>\n<strong>Une question d\u2019\u00e9quilibre<\/strong><br \/>\nPas de doute, ces trois mod\u00e8les ont tous trouv\u00e9 leur niche dans un march\u00e9 o\u00f9, malgr\u00e9 les hauts prix \u00e0 la pompe, il restera toujours d\u2019irr\u00e9ductibles amateurs de performance.<br \/>\nLe Challenger saura s\u00e9duire les plus maniaques d\u2019entre eux et la Camaro SS, elle, vient rejoindre une client\u00e8le davantage attir\u00e9e vers la course. D\u00e9pourvue d\u2019\u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s toutes les options imaginables, elle est moins confortable au quotidien.<br \/>\nReste la Mustang GT. Tr\u00e8s puissante, elle propose un plaisir de conduire certain, mais ne sacrifie pas le confort \u00e0 bord. C\u2019est la plus polyvalente des trois, sans aucun doute.<br \/>\nSi j\u2019avais \u00e0 choisir entre la Challenger, la Camaro et la Mustang (et si mon portefeuille me le permettait), j\u2019irais avec la Mustang. Compl\u00e8tement revue pour 2015, elle marie parfaitement puissance et confort pour le plus grand bonheur d\u2019une client\u00e8le qui, avouons-le, ne rajeunit pas.<br \/>\nReste \u00e0 voir si la prochaine Camaro, pr\u00e9vue pour 2016, saura r\u00e9pliquer comme il se doit.
